The first-ever World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards (WSTHA) will take place on September 27 in Belize, marking a significant moment for the global travel and tourism industry. This prestigious event, held in partnership with the World Travel Awards, will celebrate individuals and organisations that have made remarkable contributions to sustainability within the industry. The ceremony is set to be hosted at the historic Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve, located in San Ignacio Town. This ancient Maya site, with temples dating back to 1,200 BC, offers a fitting location for an event focused on sustainable tourism. WSTHA organisers believe that the reserve reflects the ideals of responsible travel and is the perfect venue for recognising those dedicated to protecting the planet.
